Andoid Slap Apple's Siri Again ! Gooogle Say It

After Apple bought Siri a few years ago, many assumed it was the company's first step in a battle against Google's search business. It was a good assumption.
But at All Things D's D8 conference in 2010, Steve Jobs tried to put that speculation to rest by saying Apple had slightly different plans for Siri.
"[It's] not a search company. They're an AI company. We have no plans to go into the search business. We don't care about it. Other people do it well," Jobs told Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg.
Jobs was mostly right. Siri launched on the iPhone 4S in October as more of an intelligent virtual assistant than a searching tool. Siri is designed to set reminders, send text messages, make appointments, etc. Search is kind of part of Siri, but it relies heavily on Wolfram Alpha, a "knowledge engine" that usually does a great job at answering oddball questions like "What's the GDP of Greece?" but not so great at pulling up queries normal humans need.

Winner And Loser Of Infotech Of the Year

Time is a funny thing. One minute I’m standing in a crowded room fondling HP’s new 10.1-inch TouchPad tablet, the next, I’m writing its obituary, and a moment later I’m marking the rebirth of its OS as an open source platform. That’s not really how it happened. This course of events took much of 2011. But it’s a quirk of life that time, especially as you get older, goes by faster and faster, and a company’s fortunes can change in the blink of an eye — even if that blink took 12 months.
As 2011 draws to a close it’s the perfect time for me to decompress the year, to pull it apart like an accordion, stretching it wide so I can see the events, big and small, that gave 2011 its character. Those on the top edge of those accordion folds are the year’s winners, while the others living in the channels are its losers.

Google's New Offers to Windows Phone A Google Search Bar On Start Screen

While there is a Google Search application for Windows Phone, it is definitely not something which will shake your world. However, according to recent reports, Google Search now not only recognizes your Windows Phone but also offers to put a Tile on your Start Screen for easy access.

The good folks at WPCentral already received this and, as you can see in their screenshots above, going to Google on your Windows Phone should display an option to pin the page to your Start Screen. If you choose to do so, you're taken to a special page, formatted perfectly for the WVGA experience on Windows Phone, from where you can pin the site to your Start, resulting in a Tile for easy access.

Note: The feature is probably being rolled out in stages so chances are you'll likely have to wait until it reaches your region, if not yet available.
